  • We are a fully licensed & insured "mom & pop builder" based out of the East Bay.

  • We have successfully built many ADUs (Additional Dwelling Units) across the Bay Area & Northern California including Livermore, Dublin, Alamo, Pleasanton, Hayward Concord, Sacramento & El Cerrito to name a few. In addition to ADU builds we have done additions, JADUs (Junior ADUs), new single family home builds & remodels for our clients.

  • We are hard working, honest & strive for complete customer satisfaction.

  • We pride ourselves on completing our ADUs start to finish in around 100 days of breaking ground.

  • We are reasonable & realistic in our pricing & understand there may be slight changes along the way.

  • We are not a big box builder. We pride ourselves on being professional, available & timely in completing our projects.

  • We do not take on more work then we can manage.

  • We will provide you with a clear timeline & will meet at least weekly with you until your project is complete.

  • We will always be available and involved throughout the build process.

  • We are not a design - build company. We believe as a homeowner you should have the flexibility to work with any architect/designer you see fit. However, we can refer you to a architect/designer should you need one

AS OF MARCH 2025 OUR STARTING PRICE FOR STANDARD LEVEL OR "RENTAL GRADE" ADU CONSTRUCTION STARTS IN THE LOW-MID $300 per sq. ft range.

 

Like everything in the world, costs fluctuate depending on a variety of variables. We believe in full transparency in costs as it saves time for everyone involved.

The cost of your ADU will increase based off many variables. These include the size of the ADU, how many ADUs you are building at a time, land conditions (e.g. flat lot versus sloped, grading, foundation complexity, utility locations) and local permitting requirements (e.g. plan check fees, permit fees, school fees, utility fees if any).

 

Build costs will be affected by the level of finishing as well. Standard pricing always includes a standard level of finish or what we sometimes call "rental grade", including entry level appliances and fixtures.

Below is a breakdown of our our standard level or "rental grade" finishes & other key items to note.

ADU COSTS & FINISH DETAILS

KITCHEN

  • Cabinets: Wood construction cabinets with soft-close shaker with wooden doors & face

  • Flat-panel doors for cabinets++

  • Glass doors in cabinets++

  • Counter tops: Quartz with four inches of backsplash

  • Slab backsplash going up wall matching countertop ++

  • Tile for backsplash++

  • Appliances:  All electric - 30” range, 24” dishwasher, over-the range hood

Following years of navigating the highs and lows of personal construction projects, Paul founded The ADU Dudes LLC in 2022 with a clear mission: to provide the Bay Area with a dependable, affordable, and honest team for constructing Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) or other major residential additions/renovations. Leveraging his firsthand experience building his own ADU units, Paul is now dedicated to empowering others to achieve their building goals, streamlining the process with his expertise and guidance.

Rodrigo

Meet Rodrigo, the hammer and nails behind The ADU Dudes and San Andres Construction, with an impressive 20+ years of construction expertise. As a seasoned licensed contractor, he has successfully tackled a diverse range of projects, from residential renovations and additions to hotel developments and complete single-family home builds. For the past four years, Rodrigo has dedicated his expertise to specializing in Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in the Bay Area, solidifying his reputation as a trusted, honest and skilled contractor.

Susan

Meet Susan, the powerhouse behind the scenes! As our part-time administrative assistant, she keeps the gears turning smoothly with her scheduling, record-keeping, and coordination. Whether she’s organizing calendars, keeping track of important details, or making sure the team is always on their "A" game, Susan is part of the secret weapon that keeps everything running like clock work.
