ADU COSTS & FINISH DETAILS 

AS OF MARCH 2026, OUR STARTING PRICE FOR "STANDARD FINISH" OR "RENTAL GRADE" ADU CONSTRUCTION STARTS AT JUST $299 per sq. ft.

Like everything in the world, costs fluctuate depending on a variety of variables. We believe in full transparency in costs as it saves time for everyone involved. The cost of your ADU will increase based on many variables, including:

- ADU sq ft

- Number of ADUs you are building at a time

- Land conditions (e.g., flat lot versus sloped, grading, foundation complexity, utility locations)

- Local permitting requirements (e.g., plan check fees, permit fees, school fees, utility fees, if any).

- Number of bathrooms

- Level of finishes you would like

Standard pricing always includes our "standard level of finish" or what some call "rental grade", including entry-level appliances and fixtures. To be fully transparent to leave no surprises, below is a link to exactly what is included in our "Standard Finish".

Principal

After riding the rollercoaster of his own construction projects, the wins, the headaches, and everything in between, Paul founded The ADU Dudes LLC in 2022 with a simple goal: make building an ADU in the Bay Area a whole lot easier. What started as personal projects quickly turned into a mission. Having gone through the process himself, Paul saw how confusing, expensive, and frustrating it could be for homeowners. So he built a company focused on doing things differently: clear guidance, honest pricing, and a team you can actually rely on. Today, Paul and The ADU Dudes help Bay Area families plan, coordinate, and bring ADU and home addition projects to life with trusted licensed contractors. Using the lessons learned from building his own units, Paul is passionate about helping others turn their ideas into real projects without the chaos that usually comes with construction. From concept to completion, the goal is simple: help homeowners build smarter, faster, and with confidence.

Administrative Lead

Meet Susan, the powerhouse behind the scenes who helps keep everything running smoothly. As our part time administrative assistant, she keeps the wheels turning with scheduling, organization, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. From coordinating calendars to keeping track of the many moving pieces behind a project, Susan helps make sure the team is always on their A game. She’s the quiet force that keeps everything organized, on schedule, and running like clockwork.

Licensed Contractor

Meet Rodrigo, the hammer, nails, and know-how behind The ADU Dudes and San Andres Construction (License #1081083). With more than 20 years of hands-on construction experience, Rodrigo has built just about everything you can imagine, from home renovations and additions to hotel projects and ground up single family homes. Rodrigo is the guy who turns plans on paper into real buildings. Known for being honest, hardworking, and incredibly skilled in the field, he brings a calm, practical approach to every project and keeps things moving the right way on site. Over the past four years, Rodrigo has focused heavily on building Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) across the Bay Area, becoming a trusted go to contractor for homeowners looking to add space, value, and flexibility to their properties. When Rodrigo is on the job, you know your project is in good hands.
